Frequently Asked Questions

How much does vehicle shipping cost?

Vehicle shipping costs typically range from $500 for short cross-state hauls to $1,800+ for coast-to-coast transport. Pricing depends on distance, vehicle size, transport type (open vs enclosed), seasonality and lead time. Contact Gech Inc at (341) 341-0189 for an exact quote tailored to your route and vehicle.

How long does auto transport take?

Most domestic shipments take between 1 and 9 days in transit once your vehicle is picked up. West Coast to East Coast averages 7–9 days, regional moves typically complete within 1–3 days. Pickup windows are usually 1–5 days after booking.

Is my vehicle insured during transport?

Yes. Every carrier dispatched by Gech Inc carries federally mandated cargo insurance. We verify each carrier's active policy and active FMCSA authority before assignment, and we can provide certificates of insurance on request.

Do I need to be present for pickup and delivery?

Either you or an authorized adult (18+) must be present at both pickup and delivery to sign the Bill of Lading and inspect the vehicle. A friend, family member, neighbor or dealership representative can act on your behalf.

Can I ship personal items inside the vehicle?

Federal regulations technically prohibit personal items in transported vehicles since carriers are not licensed household-goods movers. Many carriers allow up to 100 lbs of personal items in the trunk at the customer's own risk, but items are not insured. We recommend shipping personal belongings separately.

Open carrier vs enclosed transport — which should I choose?

Open carriers are the industry standard, more affordable and used for roughly 95% of all auto transport. Enclosed transport offers full protection from weather and road debris and is recommended for luxury, exotic, classic, vintage or high-value vehicles.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking 1–2 weeks in advance whenever possible for the best pricing and carrier availability. That said, Gech Inc can often arrange next-day and same-week pickups on popular routes when needed.

How do I pay for vehicle shipping?

Most shipments require a small deposit at booking, with the balance paid to the driver at delivery via cash, certified check or money order. Some customers prefer to pay everything via credit card up front — we'll explain your options when you book.

Are you licensed and bonded?

Yes. Gech Inc operates with active FMCSA broker authority and a verified surety bond. We can provide license and bond details on request.

Do you ship to Hawaii or Alaska?

Yes. We coordinate ocean and overland transport to Hawaii and Alaska through our specialty partners. Pricing and timelines differ from mainland shipping — call for a quote.

What if my vehicle is damaged in transit?

While damage is rare, every carrier we dispatch carries cargo insurance. Note any damage on the Bill of Lading at delivery and notify us immediately — we'll guide you through the claim process.

Can I track my vehicle in real time?

Most of our carriers offer dispatcher updates rather than live GPS apps. Your assigned Gech Inc representative provides updates throughout transit so you always know your vehicle's status.
